17th Trinational Conference (OSSTF) - Poster
17th Trinational Conference Poster Design An editorial-style event poster designed for an international coalition advocating for public education across North America. The concept leverages a textured, mixed-media collage approach, utilizing halftone graphics and torn-paper aesthetics to convey a powerful message of grassroots solidarity, structural support, and cross-border unity.
Design Concept & Metaphor
The visual narrative centers on solidarity, community, and the preservation of public education.
The Bridge: Two stylized, halftoned hands work together to hold a yellow pencil across a deep canyon, creating a literal and figurative bridge.
The Journey: Walking across this pencil bridge is a silhouette of a family or group of individuals, representing the diverse communities relying on educational access. The pencil itself is subtly inscribed with "MEXICO • CANADA • USA"
The Foundation: Anchoring the composition on either side of the canyon are towering stacks of books, rendered in rich, earth-toned textures, symbolizing that knowledge and education form the bedrock of the movement. They move from destroyed and burned books to books in restored condition.

Project: Creating A Meaningful Legacy 2026 Poster Design
Client: OSSTF/FEESO
Theme: Celebrating Black Intersectionality
Role: Graphic Designer (Concept, Illustration, Layout, and Typography)

The poster centers around a large, vibrant tree that acts as a direct visual metaphor for the competition’s theme, "Creating a Meaningful Legacy."
The design is split into two interconnected halves to capture the essence of how a legacy is built and expressed. The underground root system is embedded within a rich word cloud featuring foundational personal traits—like strong, creative, kind, brave, free, and honest. This represents the unseen internal values, individual identity, and personal character that form the base of who we are.
From these deep roots grows a flourishing canopy divided into transitioning autumn colors, symbolizing growth, time, and the different ways a legacy takes shape. Selected leaves carry words like peace, wisdom, stewardship, leadership, and belonging, illustrating the visible, outward impact an individual leaves on their family, community, and the future.
By connecting these deep personal roots to a wide-reaching, colorful canopy, the poster visually mirrors the competition's call for students to explore both the "seen and unseen" marks they leave behind. It serves as an open invitation for students to use their unique voices—whether through a poem, short story, digital production, or painting—to show how their individual ideas and creativity can branch out to inspire change and leave a lasting impression on the world.
Project: Black History Month 2025 Poster Design
Client:
OSSTF/FEESO
Theme: Celebrating Black Intersectionality
Role: Graphic Designer (Concept, Illustration, Layout, and Typography)

Concept & Creative Direction:
The objective of this poster was to visually capture the nuance of "Black Intersectionality" for a Black History Month 2025 campaign. Rather than treating identity as a monolith, the concept emphasizes that every individual is shaped by a unique combination of stories, backgrounds, and experiences. This design needed to work in both English and French.
Visual Strategy
The Interlocking Silhouettes:
The focal point consists of two mirrored silhouettes filled with a puzzle motif. This serves as a literal and metaphorical representation of how different pieces of identity—such as gender, heritage, and expression—interlock to form the whole self.
Color Palette & Typography:
Warm, earthy, and pastel background tones evoke a sense of celebration and fluidity. This is balanced by strong, expressive, hand-drawn typography for the main headings to give the message an authentic, human voice.
Composition & Texture:
The poster utilizes a distinct split composition. The top half is organic and layered, while the bottom half uses a bold, textured black ribbon to firmly ground the event details ("Black History Month 2025") and a clean call-to-action (QR code scanning area).
